When you're creating videos on mykaraoke.video, you'll often be choosing between making a karaoke or a lyric video. The key difference lies in how you handle the audio.
Karaoke Video: To make a karaoke video, you'll upload a song and then strip out the vocals.
Lyric Video: For a standard lyric video, you'll keep the song exactly as you uploaded it, vocals and all.
Access these controls in the Audio Tracks menu:
Choose Your Track Type:
Look for the Karaoke and Original buttons at the top of the Audio Tracks section.
Hit Karaoke if you're aiming for a karaoke version.
Hit Original if you want to export the song with its existing vocals for a lyric video.
Once you've selected Karaoke, you'll see separate controls for the Instrumental and Vocal tracks:
Instrumental: Use the play button to preview the instrumental.
Vocal: The vocals track is muted by default. Click the speaker icon to unmute it. Then, use the volume slider to control how much of the vocals you want in your mix – or none at all. You can use these vocal controls as a reference point even when working on a karaoke track.
Want to add backing vocals? You can extract them from the main vocal track using our AI. Just click the Extract Backing Vocals button.
After the AI extraction is complete, you will see a confirmation message indicating the job has finished. Click the Load Backing & Lead Vocals Tracks button that appears to load the newly extracted tracks into the editor.
A new Backing Vocals player will appear. Use its volume slider to blend in the right amount of backing vocals to your mix.
If you chose Original, you'll see a single player showing the song exactly as you uploaded it. This is straightforward – no vocal removal or adjustments happen here.
Before you export, double-check your audio track choice.
When you click Export, a settings window will pop up.
Look for Audio Track. It will clearly state whether you've selected ORIGINAL or KARAOKE.
ORIGINAL means your export will be a lyric video with the original audio.
KARAOKE means your export will be a karaoke version, reflecting your instrumental, backing vocal, and lead vocal mix.
Making the right audio track selection upfront ensures your exported video matches your creative vision.
